Green, the color of life! This Matcha Mint Cacao Milkshake tastes like a creamy, minty creamsicle and is loaded with the GOOD stuff. This milkshake would be perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack. Or for dinner. Hey, we don’t judge! If you haven’t heard of Matcha yet, you’re in for a real treat. Matcha powder is straight, stoneground green tea leaves that bring you a powerful arsenal of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids in a way no other green tea can! Not only does Matcha have health-boosting super powers, but it can also aid in detoxing the body as well as relaxing and calming the mind. Aaaaaaahh, now doesn’t that feel nice?
The brand of Matcha Powder featured in this video is Cognitea Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder. CogniTea Matcha is crafted with Matcha produced by one of the oldest and most respected farms in Japan. It is shade grown with organic fertilizer, hand-picked, and stone ground into that bright green fine powder you see. We like them because they use no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or fillers. Just pure, green goodness!
You are going to need a blender for this Matcha Mint Cacao Milkshake! You can use a Nutri-Bullet or another single-serving blender if you’re just whipping this up for yourself. If you are sharing like a generous little guy or gal, then use a full-sized blender. The rest of this recipe is super easy and quick to make. Once you set out your blender, just dump all of the ingredients in and blend your heart out! Fresh bananas, ice, coconut milk, mint leaves, Matcha powder, raw cacao nibs, vanilla extract and sea salt all mix together in perfect harmony.
After your blending sesh, you will be left with a lovely, creamy milkshake that is…wait for it…. dairy free! Yeah, surprising, right? This is ideal for people with dairy intolerances or allergies. For the milk, you can use full fat coconut milk found in the canned goods aisle of your grocery store. In this particular recipe, we use coconut milk from Califia Farms. Their milks are soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, carrageenan-free, non-GMO, kosher and vegan. Califia Farms has a really unique variety of plant milks, coffees, creamers and even juices. Oh, and the chocolate in this shake? It’s also dairy free. Cha-ching! Well, actually Ca-cao! If you haven’t tried these gems yet, raw cacao nibs are unprocessed dark grades of chocolate and are a much healthier option than conventional chocolate. See? You don’t even have to feel guilty about it! Cacao nibs won’t have that super sweet taste that you’re used to with traditional chocolate, but they really do well in smoothies or shakes.
